Description

Naval Museum
The main theme is a different museum experience; a spatial character that provokes curiosity, constant attention and contributes to communication the spatial awareness created through a multilayer plot reveals a museum concept out of the ordinary. In collaboration with Dr. Semra Aydinli, among others.

A new exhibition approach to support the perceptive integrity of large objects is foreseen. Large spaces are needed for the Kadırga and Saltanat boats to be perceived from a distance. Lining the boats up in sequences does not help the perception issue.Horizontal and vertical perception distances, changing spatial experience and free circulation patterns around a space require a spiral plot, rather than a directional one.

The changing continuity between the observer and the space is defined as “spatial choreography".The organic web-like relationship between the circulation paths and the exhibition platforms create surprise locations experienced between finding the way and getting lost. This concept gives the museum a dynamic structure.

This concept gives the museum a dynamic structure. In short, “the spatial choreography” emerges from the coexistence of the layout of the building shell, organic circulation paths, ramps, multi-layered exhibition platforms and the movement of the human body.
